Today I want to show you how to target a specific town. If you have a local or regional business and you like to draw your customers from surrounding towns or states, even, there is a very good way to generate traffic from, let's say, a specific town.

I'm going to start this by telling a story of how we did this for Josh. We started by building him a website for his business that did, in fact, start driving search traffic. In fact, one Spring he told me he got 88 leads in two weeks and he had to send about half of them away, which I thought was a pretty good performance. Then last year he decided, "You know, I want to target Manchester, New Hampshire, as a town to draw gutter installation leads from."

So what did we do? The first thing we did is we do a little research. We said, "What keywords to we want to attract in Google search?" We actually pulled up some software which tells us what keywords people are using in Google to find, say, a gutter installer.

If we cruise down these keywords you'll see that "Gutter installation" is a popular search, and that was the keyword combination that landed on. So what we did was we registered the domain GuttersManchesterNH.com and that domain will be the foundation for capturing leads for his site.

Now let's see how this played out. We go to Google, and let's say we do a search for "Manchester gutter installation." What we get here is this website, GuttersManchesterNH.com here is owning the number one spot. If we click in, what we're getting here is essentially a clone of his existing website. That's exactly what we did. We copied his existing website and installed it on GuttersManchesterNH.com.

Then what we did is we went in and we rearranged the keywords. Something called optimization that you have to do on a website to attract Google search. We went in and did some optimization and boom, he had a website that is now generating leads and new business for his business from Manchester, New Hampshire.

So if you run a local, regional business, you want to pull more leads from a specific town or area, then this is a very good way to approach it.
